The Salty Duck is the kind of house that makes people want to come back. It's been thoughtfully renovated — clean lines, modern updates, and a layout that gives a family of 8 room to spread out without losing each other. Three king bedrooms, a bunk room for the kids, three full bathrooms, and two separate levels of entertaining space inside and out.

The backyard is where most of the magic happens. The private saltwater pool and hot tub are set alongside a bar area with lighting, outdoor games, and deck seating. When you're ready for sunsets, the sound is a 5-minute walk. When you're ready for the beach, access is 8 minutes on foot — you'll cross Rt. 12, but it's a quick, easy crossing that guests do daily without a second thought.

Duck village is about a mile away — walkable or a short drive — with restaurants, coffee shops, yoga, boutique shopping, and the Duck boardwalk right on the sound. It's one of the most charming towns on the OBX, and it's essentially at your doorstep. Shore Roasters coffee shop, Southern Shores Pizza, Steamers, and much more are just a short drive!

Rental Agreement
After booking your stay with us, we kindly ask that you complete a rental agreement. This is a standard procedure designed to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all parties involved in renting homes in North Carolina. When signing the rental agreement, you agree to share it and the house rules with all parties who will be on the property during your stay. This rental agreement applies to "everyone" staying or visiting the property. If you are booking on Airbnb, you will receive a link to the rental agreement in the Airbnb app.

Guest Verification with Truvi
To protect our homes and enhance your peace of mind, Sojourn partners with Truvi, a third-party guest verification platform. You’ll receive a direct message from Truvi to complete your verification. Please complete this step before check-in. Visit Truvi’s website to learn more.

Trust & Safety Fee
Our company applies a single, nonrefundable fee for a Safely Protection Policy. We do not collect a security deposit. A Safely Protection Policy (short-term rental insurance) ensures that the guest, the home, and its contents are protected during the stay.

Property Access & Maintenance
From time to time, our homes may require preventative or emergency maintenance. While we make every effort to avoid any interruptions to your stay, Sojourn reserves the right to access the property after providing 24 hours’ written notice. Your comfort is our priority, and we appreciate your understanding.

Security Cameras
All of our homes have exterior security cameras for the safety and security of our guests. Exterior cameras are pointed at areas of ingress and egress from the home. This home has one camera overlooking the front door.

No Parties/Events
We kindly ask you to treat our home as your own to preserve its condition for future guests and your return visits. We do not accept reservations from individuals under the age of 25, especially for high school or college parties.

Not a Pet-Friendly Home
We love those little (and not-so-little) furry bundles of joy. Sadly, our home is not suitable to accommodate them. Should you bring pets without obtaining prior permission from the host, there will be a $400 infraction fee, and your stay will be subject to cancellation with no refund and an expedited eviction.
