VR-515 Hayman Blvd

Salty SolMate is a soundside retreat in Kill Devil Hills built for the guests who want more than just a beach house. Steps to Bay Drive sunsets, hot tub, swing beds, hammock, outdoor bar — and in September and October, this is one of the best-kept secrets on the OBX.

✔ Hot Tub & Outdoor Bar
✔ Steps to Bay Drive Sunsets
✔ Free Beach Parking — Hayman Beach
✔ 5-Min Walk to Hayman Park
✔ 10-Min Walk to Front Porch Cafe
✔ Fully Stocked Kitchen
✔ Managed by Salt Coast by Sojourn

Salty SolMate is the kind of house that surprises you. Guests tell us the pictures don't do it justice — and they're right. Inside and out, every detail has been thought through: memory foam mattresses, Frette towels, Lather soaps, a kitchen stocked for real cooking, complimentary water, and treats on arrival, and an outdoor space designed for lingering long after dinner.

The lower carport area is the social hub. Hot tub, outdoor bar, two swing beds, hammock swings, and an outdoor shower. Take a left out of the driveway, and you're two minutes to the Bay Drive gazebo — one of the best sunset walks on the OBX. Take a right, and Hayman Park is one quiet block away. Free beach parking at Hayman Beach is straight across the stop sign at the end of the street - pack the beach gear and go!

September and October are genuinely special here. The crowds thin out, the temperatures drop just enough to make the hot tub feel like a destination, and the sunsets on Bay Drive get longer and more dramatic. Even on rainy days — and OBX always has at least one — the covered ground-level carport area keeps everyone entertained. Guests have set up corn hole, kept the kids busy, and stayed completely dry without missing a beat.

What our guests say:

"We absolutely loved our stay at Sojourn’s! The house was beautiful and super clean. The kitchen was well stocked. We were provided with complimentary water and candies. The beds and bedding were extremely comfortable! The house is in a quiet neighborhood right off the main road, super convenient for all your travel plans on the islands. And lastly, LeAnne, the host, has been super responsive and helpful, lightning fast! We would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking to stay on OBX." ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Aibek

"Great stay, everything exceeded expectations. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the OBX area". ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Oscar

"Very clean house. The outdoor shower was convenient. The host provided toiletries. They also gave us stuff for the beach, like a wagon, chairs, and boogie boards. There were many spices and cooking supplies. The lollipops for kids were a nice touch. The family loved it." ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Anike

"This house was such a treat to stay at. We had two couples and two teens in our crew. So much room, gorgeous accommodations, many places to sit, relax, chat, play games, and a short walk to the sound for gorgeous sunsets. Communication with our hosts was top-notch. We couldn’t recommend this home more!" ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Sara
